Manny Pacquiao Needs To “Restore Himself” In Order To Fight Floyd Mayweather, Says Legend

Manny Pacquiao has hit something of a rough patch. Regardless of whether you’re a fan of his work or one of those people who thinks he rose to the top of boxing’s pound-for-pound charts during a particularly weak era in the sport's history, there is no denying that for a five-to-seven year period he was the cream of the crop.

Manny Pacquiao Dismisses Floyd Mayweather Vs. Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez Fight

There has been a surprising number of great fights throughout the first half of 2013, and two particular bouts scheduled for the end of this year have already created a lot of buzz.

Manny Pacquiao Will Take Less Money To Fight Floyd Mayweather

Manny Pacquiao has wanted to fight Floyd Mayweather Jr. ever since his loss to Timothy Bradley, and he’s no longer trying to be coy about it. Prior to suffering his first defeat in seven years, the Filipino star was a little hot-and-cold in regards to a super fight against his only legitimate equal in the sport. He was down to fight Mayweather if the price was right, but he wasn’t willing to sacrifice what he felt he was worth just in order to make it happen. Then, when he fell to Bradley last year, Pacquiao realized just how much money he was on the verge of losing if he didn’t take on Mayweather. Unfortunately, at that point, his loss gave Mayweather the perfect out to not accept a fight against him.

Manny Pacquiao Is Going To Get Knocked Out Again, Says Brandon Rios

Manny Pacquiao may be a 3-to-1 favorite heading into his Nov. 2013 showdown against Brandon Rios, but that doesn’t mean a whole lot to anyone. Pacquiao has been the favorite in each of his last two matches, and he’s subsequently lost both. Rios was the favorite heading into his second fight versus Mike Alvarado, and that ultimately didn’t do much for him either. Pre-fight odds are just that – pre-fight odds.

Manny Pacquiao Forced To Fight In Asia By Golden Boy, Oscar De La Hoya?

Earlier this year Manny Pacquiao sent shockwaves through boxing when he announced that, for the first time since July of 2006, he was going to be fighting outside of the United States. Over the past five years, regardless of whether you rooted for him or against him, there was no denying that the Filipino star was one of the two biggest names boxing had to offer. His decision to fight in a different country, no matter how it was sold to the public, was huge.

Manny Pacquiao Should Be Ready For A Bloody Mess, Says Brandon Rios

Brandon Rios is relatively unknown compared to some of the other potential opponents Manny Pacquiao wanted to fight next, so it’s understandable why the reaction to their fight announcement was a bit muted. That being said, despite the fact that he’s coming off a loss, Rios is one of the most promising and gritty boxers in the game today. It’s debatable whether he can beat Pacquiao, but it’s a lock that he’ll entertain either way.

Manny Pacquiao Is Optimistic Heading Into Brandon Rios Fight

Coming off back-to-back losses, Manny Pacquiao understands the importance of his upcoming fight against Brandon Rios. At 34 years old, the Filipino star doesn’t have many bouts left in him, and the cumulative effect of three straight losses on both his health and legacy may just be too much to overcome. Plain and simple: Nov. 24’s match-up is a must-win for him, and both he and the members of his camp seem to realize that.

Manny Pacquiao Vs. Brandon Rios Will Have A Lasting Impact

While the prospect of seeing Manny Pacquiao taking on Juan Manuel Marquez for a fifth time or Timothy Bradley for a second time was appealing, nobody was especially disappointed when the Filipino star ended up settling for Brandon Rios. Sure, the other two options brought bigger names to the table, but neither one offered up as stylistically an interesting a match-up as Rios will.

Manny Pacquiao Vs. Timothy Bradley: Delusions Of Grandeur

The one thing that Timothy Bradley had going for him in the aftermath of his undeserved victory over Manny Pacquiao was that people still liked him. Everyone knew that he didn’t earn the win that was handed to him by a couple of inept, incompetent judges – but it was still widely agreed upon that he wasn’t to blame.

Manny Pacquiao’s Camp Expresses Interest In Floyd Mayweather Fight

A potential fight between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather has been all but completely dismissed by boxing fans. After years of failing to put this bout together, and given both men’s stubbornness, the wariness is understandable.
